Renting with Essential Appliances is as easy as 1, 2, 3, here's How It Works:

  1. Browse our range, find the product you need and add it to your cart. Then just select the contract length and payment frequency you want and complete your application online. Easy!
  2. Our team will assess your application to make sure that renting is right for you. Once approved, just sign the contract and be ready for the first payment.
  3. Once the first payment has been made, your new rental will be delivered to you within 5 to 10 business days. Then your hassle-free, set-and-forget payments will be managed directly through your government benefits or via direct debit.

Our step by step application process will ask you all the questions needed to complete your application. You will also need to upload some bank and/or Centrelink statements. But our online application makes this an easy process.

You’ll receive notification via email and SMS to advise you if your application has been successful. The assessment takes around 3 to 4 business days from when you submit your application.

If our team needs further information they will contact you and outline what information they need (please keep in mind if they need more information this can impact the time it takes to assess your application).

As part of our verification process, we need to authenticate your bank account so we know the details provided are correct. For new customers and customers changing bank accounts, we require one or two fortnightly payments before the item is dispatched, depending on the product. As soon as this payment is received, your order is all set for delivery.

Once complete and submitted, your application will be assessed within 3 to 4 business days. After approval and the first payment/s your order will be dispatched and will be with you within 5 to 10 business days. We’ll send you tracking details once your order is dispatched.

If you would like to add another product we can amend your application, however it will need to be resubmitted to our team. Yes, we do carry out credit history checks as part of our financial assessment to ensure that the rental that you are apply for is suitable for you.

We accept applications from people receiving any of the following Centrelink benefits: Parenting Payment, Family Tax Benefit, Disability Support Pension, Carer's Allowance, Widow's Allowance, Aged Pension and Newstart. Unfortunately, we don't accept Youth Allowance or Austudy.

Please note: Gaming consoles aren’t available on Newstart Allowance.
